We really cannot wait to launch this years WedTalks – our one day conference for wedding businesses here in France, to be inspired and to learn from wedding industry leaders. Last years was such a success, so we are busy planning what to bring you this year. With feedback such as “The conference day was a success – the organisation and planning were perfect.” and “We spent amazing moments with people, sharing experiences and know how. It was really interesting and inspiring”, we know that the French Riviera is ready to grow their wedding businesses, to better serve couples looking for a luxury wedding. Before we focus on the future let us look back to 2019 and the speakers who helped to make the day such a success.
To set the scene; the day before we had torrential rain like we hadn’t seen in a long time here in Grasse, it POURED! We were uncertain if this would continue for WedTalks but when we woke up, the sunshine was glorious. It was like the gods knew that there was a day of wedding business inspiration to be had, and we needed our visitors to experience the chateau in all its glory.
It set the scene for the day that was a huge success.
Tracy Butterfield who runs Wedx in the UK started the day, sharing how learning is vital to our growth. Next up was by Estelle De Paoli – from Haute Wedding. Estelle has been named as one of Vogue Magazine’s top 5 international wedding planners so we were so proud to have her speak at the event. She took our delegates through how to book and work with high end international clients which was so well received.
Next up was Louise Perry – from Louise Perry Weddings, another highly respected destination wedding planner. She works with many multi cultural couples so shared all her fantastic advice on this topic with our audience.
We were so excited to welcome Matthew and Bertie from Matthew Oliver Wedding who plan super luxury weddings all over the world, who shared advice on the importance of communication between the client, supplier and the planning team. Their enthusiasm was infectious!
Lastly before our lunch (amazing food on the balcony in the sunshine!) we were learnt about the latest wedding trends by Chloé Atlan from Aava Wedding.
Our audience learnt so much in the morning; they were so ready to relax, eat and importantly to make new contacts with others in the wedding industry and ask questions from the experts.
After lunch, the audience listened to 4 more speakers as well as an open question and answer panel to end the day.
We had the marketing expert Kate Beavis from Magpie Wedding share so many great tips for growing an engaged audience on social media as well as Laura Payne-Stanley from the great French Style Wedding blog sharing how to successfully submit a wedding and get published on hers and other’s blogs. Everyone left these two sessions with so many marketing ideas to grow their business.
Lastly we heard an inspiring talk by Christine Jenson from Peboryon. Christine and her husband make luxury wedding cakes but on this day she was here to talk about being nice; and how we need to work together to create a better industry. It was really moving! At the same time Kylie Carlson from The Wedding Academy Global shared with us how we all need to embrace video marketing.
WOW – what a line up right? It was a day of education, inspiration and networking where everyone in the room learnt a lot and left armed with ideas to take their wedding business to the next level.
Bring on 2020!
